When I go into work I always take the stairs to the unit. Those five flights serve a purpose. I pray the whole way up. I've never told anyone.

As I was reading and writing I had Tony Bennett playing in the background, and as the songs played my brain picked up lyrics that were relevant to this chapter. *Oh you clever brain, you!* 💁🏻
"When is it my chance?...When is it my dance?"...Who can I turn to?"..."It had to be you." What can I say, Tony Bennett lyrics for days. 😊 One of my best friends Christina, had invited me to go with her to visit her home, Switzerland, some time back. When she did, we were both in university, and of course I was on that broke student budget, so of course I did not have the finances nor the the vacation time to go on a fancy European adventure. Sadly I had to let that opportunity pass me by, bummed as I was, there was no way I could go. 😔 But as I say, when things have your name on it, things always work out in your favor. Christina was going back to Switzerland!
Well, well, as much as I was dreading it, the new year was here. "Why?" you ask. Well because it just meant that my time to float was basically around the corner. That. Is. All. I. Could. Think. About! Ok, here let me give you a quick working definition of "floating"--it simply means, you go to another unit where the number of nurses on staff is less than what is needed to take care of the number of patients safely for the shift. The allotted time I was protected from floating had come to pass...whyyyyy?!!!! 😫 😭
I don't know why I didn't share this app with you guys earlier, it definitely should be one everyone has on their phones. All of us could use at least ten minutes of clarity a day, wouldn't you agree?
